WelcomeCraig returns to the studio on February 15 to begin production on Stained Glass, his first fully spiritual project since Fate of Foreigners in 2006. Stained Glass will emphasize Craig's unique story-telling style, and he will be joined on the project by Jeff Branham. Songs include: Eagles Wings, Time Machine, Western Wind, New River, Angels, A Song of the Sea, The Artist (acoustic), Eye of the Storm, All Will Be Well, Song in C, and Sweet By and By among others.
Stained Glass will be a unique blend of piano, acoustic guitar, cello, tasteful percussion, and violin to produce a sound atmosphere that Craig hopes will "soothe the soul". The project represents Craig's return to spiritual music and metaphorically tells his personal story of setting out to find God. A senior pastor for 15 years (and minister of music before that), Craig then began a 7-year journey that led him to come to full agreement with the Psalmist… "If I ascend up into heaven, you are there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, you are there." (Psalm 139:8)
Craig was featured in both 2011 & 2012 in the Songwriter's Showcase at the world-famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN and has three full-length CDs to his credit: Lion's Tree (2005), Fate of Foreigners (2006), and Big Green Mountain (2011).
His music is original and is built on his mountain, folk, gospel, and Irish influences. Songs like Hillsborough Bay, The Artist, and Buffalo Creek 1972 have received extensive radio play and critical acclaim.
He lives in Appalachian Ohio with his family and and hold a BA in History as well as a Masters Degree in Counseling. He is currently finishing his Ph.D. coursework at Ohio University in Athens and has begun his dissertation work. He is proud to play a Yamaha Motif ES-6 Keyboard and a Martin HD28 2R guitar as well as a Fender 5-String Precision bass.
